Kiln-Dried Firewood Delivery in South Elgin, IL
In the interest of brighter, hotter fires, we use only kiln-dried hardwood to make firewood. But why does it work so well? If you go outside right now and try to chop a tree down with your hypothetical axe, good luck starting a fire. Fresh wood is almost always too moist for immediate use.
Large companies who favor quantity over quality resort to “seasoning,” a simple process that’s nothing more than leaving firewood outdoors for several months to air-dry. To make the process slightly more effective, you can leave lots of space among individual logs.
Our kiln-drying process is a lot more effective, requiring about two days to produce much drier firewood. The drier the wood, the easier a time you’ll have starting a fire, and any fires you make won’t fizzle out as easily.
Density is also important because it determines how well wood can provide heat and fuel. To this end, we favor hardwood instead of softwood, as hardwoods are denser than softwoods. We also provide oak, which is dense even among hardwoods.
Combining high density with complete dryness, we can promise top-quality firewood for your next family get-together.
High-Quality Restaurant Firewood in South Elgin, IL
Our kiln-dried firewood is as effective for cooking as it is for keeping your family warm. Not only do our kilns dry our wood, but they also sterilize it, removing fungus, insects and mold.
Also, moist wood can contaminate food by producing excess smoke and creosote, two nasty byproducts that can destroy your food’s flavor. Even if you’re smoking meat, there’s such a thing as too much smoke. Moderation is a key part of wood-fired cooking.
Our 16-inch logs are perfect for large grills and barbecues, but if you need a smaller size, you can check out our sister company for more options. We offer 50-pound bags for single cookouts as well as entire pallets for restaurant owners.
Premium Hardwood Mulch Delivery in South Elgin, IL
Can you guess what makes our mulch so competitive? Simply, it’s nothing more than mulch. When you grab cheap bags of the stuff at the hardware store, they may also contain chemicals that sterilize soil and outright damage plants.
Because we use nothing more than hardwood to make mulch, our product excels equally at both defending plants from weeds and thickening soil with nutrients by way of decomposition.
How to Get Your Firewood and Mulch
Getting your hands on the best firewood in the modern age might seem difficult, but we make it easy. To get great firewood in no more than a few days, please follow the following tips.
Step 1: Pick Your Premium Wood
If you’re looking for firewood in the fall, among our most popular firewood for sale is a blend of oak, hickory, birch and cherry.
As for when spring calls for new layers of mulch, we can help you pick a color that best complements your home. Our several colors include red and chocolate, the latter of which is perfect for inviting enough contrast to make your flowers seem brighter.
Finally, for South Elgin’s restaurant owners, we present cooking wood that adds subtle hints of smoky flavor to exciting, new dishes. Types of wood include oak, hickory, apple and cherry.
Step 2: Specify How Much You Want
Our firewood orders come in three practical sizes: ¼ face cord (4’x2’), ½ face cord (4’x4’) and 1 face cord (4’x8’). If you need more than a face cord, you can always order multiple face cords, though face cords work for most residential customers.
As for mulch, we sell it by the cubic yard. Please use our site’s calculator to figure out how many cubic yards you need.
